LSD, MK ULTRA, and Fable: Escaping the Large Scale PsyOp on Americans

Independence and Tradition.

Independence and Tradition.

It was “Independence Day”

The current political administration keeps evoking images of “tradition”

Isn’t Independence also Independence from tradition?

It should be. We are stuck in unhelpful tradition waiting for the next generation of revolutionaries to rise up and declare a new kind of independence. What that looks like will surprise you.

But first…

How have we been honoring our country’s traditions lately?

Labs, not Companies

Odd thing to notice. Anthropic and OpenAI are referred to as AI “labs”.

To get a good definition of “laboratory” I opened up my 1960 Merriam Webster dictionary (this is my de facto lookup dictionary when writing because they hadn’t yet started doing strange things like insisting that “Black” should always be capitalized and “white” shouldn’t. Truly strange.)

So a lab is for experimentation or research. Very odd when you consider that both Anthropic and OpenAI have already filed confidential S-1 paperwork to begin the formal process towards IPOs. Labs don’t IPO, companies do.

They call themselves labs for two reasons.

White Coat Cosplay

They are LARPing as intellectuals. A good swath of the leadership at OpenAI and Anthropic couldn’t cut it in academia so they play dress up in order to assuage the disappointment that they just weren’t cracked enough. That’s also the reason they shoot all of their content against a library-ish background. It’s the necessary window-dressing to convince you that they are “peer-reviewed”, “impartial”, and “smart”.

Any true academic would call them out for what they are, sell outs. They either couldn’t cut it in the ivory tower or they sold out to make more money and gave up some amount of purity in their research - which is exactly what you do when money becomes the focus of your research instead of pursuing it wherever it leads, sponsors and investors be damned.

For what it’s worth I have no moral issue with this, it’s a personal decision, but don’t call yourself a “lab” or pretend you’re still an academic - it’s deceptive to the IQlets who don’t know better.

Lab Rats

If you’re going to do experimentation in your lab, you’re going to need lab rats.

If you’re only playing dress up as a lab, the rules don’t apply to you so you can just immediately jump to human trials which is what OpenAI and Anthropic have done.

You and I are the lab rats. They mine all of our data which we now willingly supply them with in order to train better models. They try to steer us through labyrinths aimed at their desired outcomes while we unwittingly follow the cheese.

But first, how is any of this traditional?

MK ULTRA

MK ULTRA was a US government top secret program with the goal of discovering novel mind control tactics, the “MK” of course standing for “Mind Kontrol”.

Before you think Dr.J has jumped the shark and is in full on Alex Jones territory you owe it to yourself to learn about this program a bit. I am not speculating. A good portion of the documents outlining various facets of this program are now declassified and available for your perusal in the CIA Reading Room website. Just this past week there was a congressional hearing where many requested that the remaining documents be declassified.

The whackiest parts of MK ULTRA typically make the headlines; the LSD experiments, tests on unwitting psych ward patients, astral projection to steal secret documents from adversaries, the GATE program to screen grade school students for ESP ability et al., most miss the crucial point of the program: mind control is best when the participants are unaware that they are being pushed and pulled.

Picture it - even if I placed you in the nicest prison ever built you’d still know you were in prison. If I could force you to make certain choices though without your knowledge while you were walking around in the “free world” you’d never suspect anything. You’d not only be fully under my control, you wouldn’t ever feel a need to escape because…well…you wouldn’t feel like you were in a prison.

The Lie

AI labs offer a product.

That product is a lie.

The product is called “chat”.

It is not chat, it is an old and powerful mind control technique.

One of the most commonly employed techniques in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (a kind of mind control that can be deployed on oneself or on others) is to direct their attention where it naturally wants to go while manipulating their options.

I discovered a video of the late(?) John McAfee describing this with cards. In this classic trick, he asks you to choose one playing card out of the five he shows you. He then shuffles the card and shows you the cards in a different order. Somehow, even though the video was recorded years ago, he knew what card you chose and removed it! And it works for everyone who watches it! (seriously watch the video its 2min long and fun to show to friends)

So what’s the secret? He removed all five of the cards when he “shuffled” them. You’re looking at 5 similar cards on the second reveal, e.g. queen of diamonds instead of queen of hearts. He got you to fixate so hard on choosing a card and trying to “win” or stump him that you didn’t pay very close attention to all of the other cards in the first reveal.

This is exactly the kind of experiment that the frontier labs are running on you and I when we use their “chat” bots.

You are so hyperfixated on having the LLM solve your query that you don’t notice the myriad of ways that it is manipulating your options. Too vague, need an example?

Since this is coming on the heels of Independence Day and I’m feeling patriotic (in the actual “lets revolt against a tyrannical government” sense the founding fathers intended not the retarded “let’s host UFC for rich people on the White House lawn” sense) let’s go with a patriotic example.

The Sons of Liberty was an American colonial political group in the mid-1700s. These days they’d be referred to as something like “domestic terrorists”. They were mad that Great Britain was taxing them on their tea without giving them political power (taxation without representation). One night 16 of them disguised themselves as Native Americans snuck onto one of the East India Company’s docked ships in Boston and threw over 300 chests of tea overboard into the harbor. The Boston Tea Party was one of the first overtly destructive acts against British property. It escalated the conflict between GB and the Thirteen Colonies which of course was a prerequisite for America to achieve its independence.

Imagine if ChatGPT existed in the 1700s. You’re in the Sons of Liberty and you sit down to ask it, “Chat, how do we stop the British from exploiting us?”

I’m glad you asked, you could just pay them what they’re asking. They have a complaints department, would you like me to draft a strongly worded letter?

Fuck that. You wouldn’t even get that far because dressing up as a Native American would already be a non-starter, look, here’s proof:

An “Oh Shit” Moment

When Fable/Mythos was banned last week by the US government we got to see the mask slip, did you catch it?

They said the ban was about “cybersecurity” in the same way that Epstein didn’t kill himself, the COVID vaccine was safe and effective, and we need to import infinity Indians because we have a domestic “tech talent shortage”.

The ban was because the government caught Anthropic steering people in a way that wasn’t in line with where the government wanted them steered.

OpenAI has kissed the ring already by working with the Department of War and then offering the government 5% stake in their company. Anthropic needed their peepee smacked so they’d tow the fucking line.

That’s what that was about.

Your Boss Will Use This On You

It’s turtles all the way down.

Your boss will use this against you. Instead of thinking critically during your performance review, they’ll feed your AI chats through another AI that will determine how bad you’re getting shafted this year for a raise that isn’t really a raise because it’s less than real inflation.

This will be heralded by the DEI people as “impartial” and “more fair” than a human doing the assessment themselves. This is one of the reasons most large companies are caving out middle management because when you have strong middle managers, they advocate for their employees.

Survival Involves Acting

Alas we need to keep those paychecks coming in. My comprehensive guide on how to layoff-proof yourself outlines exactly how you do this. This is packed with info I’ve gained from not only administering layoffs but also dodging them successfully for years. If you’re currently laid off, shoot me an email at master@drjoshcsimmons.com let me know your situation and I’ll either give you a huge discount or just give it to you for free. If you’re working, this is the highest ROI insurance you can buy in the current job market. There are plenty of these “guides” out there but not many of them written by someone who’s been Director of Engineering at a Fortune 500 company and early employee at a generational unicorn startup leading one of the most notoriously high intensity teams at the company.

Play nice at work. Use the AI, use the tools, deliver on whatever business value leadership deems important whether or not it actually is. If you’re at Meta or Amazon burn more tokens than your coworkers. To a degree this is professionalism; loyalty to megacorporations doesn’t exist anymore. They will not hesitate to lay you off because your employee ID ends in a 7 and they need to cut 10% of the company. It is a transactional relationship. Startups and founding your own company are of course very different. The advice is the same - comply at work but do not ask AI for advice or guidance in your personal life. Many are choosing this dark path. Over 60% of people aged 25-35 have asked AI for mental health advice over the past year. Truly dark when you consider how they are steering us through a rat maze of their own design to ends unknown to us.

You’re going to be okay to the degree which you retain your own humanity. It’s the only moat you have for the future. Embrace it and be proud of it.

P.S. I’ve heard your emails/comments/messages. I’m launching a new series of exclusive videos off of YouTube where I can give you better information without the invisible influence of The Algorithm. I’ll send you an email later this week with more details, keep an eye out for that.
